MK1 Classic mini information

The MK1 mini was designed by Sir Alex issigonis and released by BMC in 1959. The Mk I Mini's featured a floor mounted starter button, sliding windows and the revolutionary Alex Moulton designed suspension. The 848cc A-series engine was mounted east-to-west and powered the front wheels, the gearbox was located in the engine sump.

The MK1 came in two variants, the basic mini and the De Luxe mini both of which shared the same engine. The De Luxe boasted adjustable front passenger seat and front hinged rear quarter windows. The basic mini was a mega £497 and the De Luxe came in at £537!
